ARISE Challenges in Year 7 and Year 8

The St Anthony’s ARISE Challenges are exciting areas of learning which we expect all Year 7 & 8 students to participate in. They provide a sense of fun, wonder, improved self-worth, special character, community spirit, uniqueness, entrepreneurship – the list is endless!

We see these challenges as an extension of school-based learning. The students are encouraged to be intrinsically motivated and take responsibility for their own personal learning (self-management).

St Anthony’s Year 7 & 8 schooling has a policy of encouraging excellence in both school and home learning. This learning should be positive and challenging, full of rich tasks set in authentic contexts. With this in mind, we want our practices to reflect the latest research and give consideration to activities that our students participate in, after the completion of the school day.

The ARISE Challenge programme provides a significant amount of additional, meaningful and relevant community-based home learning. The categories reflect the special nature of our school learning community, are holistic and child-centred.

This is a two-year journey to earn all awards and here are our 2021 achievers.
